starting some chatter
So I've seen some posts talking about "keeping this community alive".  I wanted to assure everyone that WE'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!!  When I started this group it was with the intention that it would always be here, despite the amount of posting traffic.  I knew there would be lean times when folks would be so caught up with their projects that there just wouldn't be enough time to stop and type and that's to be expected with such a creative crowd.  So keep on doing your string thing knowing that the community will always be here to support you and cheer you and cry with you through all your projects.

Now, having said that... what are folks working on?

I'm doing Boogie Time from Knitty and a couple of misc. things that I can't remember details about right now.  I've also become obsessed with these, I must have them!!  Ok, talk, discuss...  ok, I'm better ~grin~.

i've just ordered a set of those needles. but i have to wait for my parents to bring them over next month, since knitpicks don't ship to the UK....

i was reading the forums on knitters review about them. wow, people either love them or hate them, and that's before anyone had even received them! i think the colours look fantastic, and can't wait to get them. it will be like all my boye needlemaster needles in one!

I am currently trying to finish up some socks. I'm also preparing my projects for a road trip in October. I'll be knitting the Hourglass Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts and the Girl's night out sweater from The Natural Knitter.

I won't finish either, obviously, but 18 hours in the car each way can't be a bad start... right?

i've been working on beach form knitty for-effing-ever. seriously...for almost a year. it was really boring and a lot of stockinette, and i just haven't finished it yet. i'm finally, at least, on the sleeves. i haven't yet made a sweater for myself, and i totally want to as soon as i finish the sweater of doom. i have a couple of things i'm thinking about, but there is a super cute one in the new knitty called tussie mussie...i want to make that one.

i have so much on my needles that i think i am subconsciously avoiding knitting in order to not have to finish something before i can start something new...

i'm working on
*River Rapids Socks for my sister in Kroy Socks by Pattons,
*Cabled purse with cane handles in dark purple
*Garterlac dish cloth that i'm ready to pull my hair out over
*Fair isle hat which is my first foray into fair-isle and seems to be never ending because its for an adult instead of a child like i usually do
*What to knit for friends with upcoming babies
*How to frog and clean up with Donna from Magknits that I started in the spring and set aside while i travelled/lived in limbo over the summer and now really wish i had to wear in the impending fall temperatures...
Wow, i really didn't think of all of this when i was looking at my stash the other night, all these projects though are helping the stash diet.

I'm trying to work as much as I can on my Jaywalkers before my Harmony DPNs get here so I can start my Broad Street Mittens. I'm also about to start the Central Park Hoodie at the end of the month :)

Well, I finally finished the requisite pieces for an eyelet-rib tunic from a Family Circle knitting book my mom scored at a garage sale and sent to me. I just need to sew the shoulder seams, pick up and knit the collar, sew the rest of the seams, and re-block it. I'm also working on a pair of Endpaper Mitts in black and teal. I'm thinking I generally want to make myself a lot more pulse warmers and fingerless gloves, as my hands run to cold quite a lot anymore.

Boogie Time is cute! I may have to look into making that... I want to make Emerald for myself, but it will probably have to wait until after I do a lot of stash-busting Christmas present projects.
