Hellloooooo! :]
I'm new to the community! :]
I thought this community could help me with a small problem I'm having.

I can crochet (WAYWAYWAY better then I can knit) and knit. So, either type of pattern is fine.
What I'm looking for?
A jacket/coat for winter! I can never find one that fits me in stores without costing hundreds of dollars. So, why not make one? Sooo, I go to google and type in what I want.. And get back nothing. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing? I don't know.

So, I'm hoping one of you wonderful knitters and crocheters could help me!
I want something warm, but not "boxy". I'm a size 26/28 / 3X.
If anyone knows of any good patterns, could you please share?

I'm getting desperate. Hehe.

TIA!
Amanda

(And, yes, I know. I say "so" WAY to much.)

Do you know White Lies Designs? They have truly stunning knit patterns, in a wide range of sizes. (Not affliated, just like their work)

Nope. :] I'm going to go look them up, though. Thank you. :]

you could try making your own design using Knitware (http://www.greatknitdesigns.com). their standard sizes go up to a 56" bust, or if you purchase the software, you can do custom sizes. i haven't used a pattern from anywhere else in years.

I've heard of Knitware, but didn't even think to try it out. I think I will now. Thank you. :]

Do you have the book Big Girl Knits? If not, I'd highly suggest getting it; there are several patterns in there that might suit (emmacrew's Sandy Cardigan is one that I'm immediately thinking of), and even if you don't want any of those in particular, there's a lot of great advice about shaping and fitting your body that might be useful in adapting something else.

No, I don't have it. :] But, I'll have to get it now. The name alone makes me happy. Heh. Thank you. :]
